North of London | My experience is in the past but I know some members were very good at looking after their own interest ahead of the best for the co -op in general.
It is always easy for any of us to critique others but when it is our turn to decide it becomes more difficult.
I am sure some deals to board members are done to 'win' them away from the co-op rather than a profitable sale for the competition then they use that to persuade others to do business with them.
I remember the board member who always wanted to cut the costs of the board.
There was an annual trip needed for 2-3 board members which required about 2-3 hours driving to be there at 8 in the morning.
I did it one year by doing chores early and leaving early with another board member.
When his turn came he took 2 other directors with him and they left the day before, 2 days per diem, and a necessary room for the night and then his group was late for the 8 am start.
So easy to say how other should do it but then not see it that way when the shoe is on their foot. | |
