when my dad was on a board many years ago it was kind of a written rule you should do your business with the board your on. Now fast forward, a lot of my farmer friends on boards do a lot of business with other companies that there board offers. It always makes me wounder if i should go else where if it is not good enough for the board members . But a board member has to do what is best for him also. Kind of a catch 22


When you are at the meetings you need to look at what is best for the coop and push for those changes if need be. If things don't change, when you leave the meeting you have to do what's best for your own checkbook. After a certain amount of times if some changes aren't addressed then it's time to look at changing management or they better have a good answer why things aren't changing.
