Subject: RE: Flooding in Nebraska

Northeast Nebraska
Honestly most of this flooding is from rain and snow melting. When the ground is frozen, ditches are full of snow and fields have more than a foot of snow all this has to go somewhere. Not uncommon to flood in eastern Nebraska, but for it to melt this fast is not that common. The water we are seeing in Dodge Co. Is not from the dams.

I've got hogs that will be out of feed tomorrow. We were scheduled to load out this last week, but got canceled. So now we will bucket feed from the other barn, hope to get by till Monday. Looking at well over a week to get a truck here. Possibly going to the neighbor with a loader to his bulk bins.

Here's a few pics. I'm pretty much stranded at my place. Many small towns are completely flooded. The levees are giving away. Majority of my fields are bottom fields. Right now probably 8' deep. I thought I was sitting good with having my nh3 applied, we shall see if that's the case in a couple of weeks.
