Problem with all the reservoirs is they were originally built for flood control, now it is recreation first flood control second, they got to keep them full all the time for recreation and then cannot hold extra water in times like this.

If they were managed properly for flooding they would have lowered the level and then could hold more water in times like this, but what if there wasn't as much runoff then the reservoir wouldn't be full for recreation this summer so nope will keep it really full and then if there is excessive runoff we just open her up wide open it get rid of the water and say had to do it to prevent the water level from getting to high and compromising the integrity of the damn sucks to be you guys down stream.


Very similar things happening in Madison, Wi. Lake levels being kept artificially high for recreational use, causing a near disaster during last summers floods.
