| It definitely can be. But, i'm sure there are many small to mid-size farms that would prefer not to have the burden of owning a combine and all the support equipment. The hard part is getting them to pay a similar operating cost per acre for a turn-key custom harvesting service. Custom harvesters have to charge the same, if not a bit more, as it costs a farmer to harvest their own crop, just without the purchase price of a late model combine, heads and support equipment on their books. | |
