Subject: Peterbilt clutch linkage?

Pierce county WI
So I didn't have any clutch brake. I looked in there and it had a 2 piece. So I had my wife push it all the way down and it wouldn't even kinda touch the brake. I've been taking like 15 seconds to put it in gear, or put in second when I'm rolling to a stop. Anyway, I start adjusting the linkage and I see that the lower hole on the arm is aluminum and worn. So I shortened the linkage and moved it into the upper hole. I had already adjusted for free play and was still good. I had my wife push it down, and it doesn't hit anything. I've got great clutch brake now and free play and goes into gear great. Any reason to not use the upper hole?
