NE ND | Also go 10 ft ceiling on an 8 ft door. Two feet of headroom you can use a single standard garage door track with a nice gentle radius. When you get less than 13 inches you'll need to go with a low overhead track to be safe.
I'm contemplating a detached also for extra stuff. This is a nice looking design but needs three doors IMO. Put the doors on the gable end if you can. My attached garage on house isn't and it is just more snow to shovel when it falls off.
