Subject: RE: 16 row vs 24 row planter

WNW Illinois, Henry Co
i am just the opposite, Love 48 rows, room to park and turn around with equipment, if you always plant two passes that is only 16 extra rows on the far end. how is that a big deal.. speaking for myself, not you.

Only thing that may not be better is spraying, with a 120 ft sprayer it matches perfect but in reality, that is not as easy as being a smaller sprayer such as a 90 then overlapping on the second pass into the field rows. so now i usually run first 8 sections on first pass then run sprayer on the last end row with about 70 feet out into the field, dont know if that made sense, but it works for me. or can run full 120 then run 50% over to be 170 ft of ends. just dont want to run the sprayer wheels into standing crop

edit to add:

ty, the 48 would work perfect for the 60 ft sprayer and that is two full passes, easy to turn into the straight rows then
boom section controls are the best , the smaller the sections the better.
