I would think that with a 16 row planter, you can easily run a 16 row sidedresser, driving down the planter tracks. With a 24 row planter, you probably are looking at a 12 row sidedressing rig with the outside rows running down planter/tractor tracks (not sure how easy, straight it would track).

We had a 16 row 1770NT with 3 bu boxes and a 500 gal starter tank on it... did't have frame problems with it.

For 1000 acres, I'm not sure that 24 row is worth the extra trouble, especially under marginal conditions. (everything's always perfect)
