Keep life simple. Invest in a Vanguard index fund of your choosing, and you will most likely beat the majority of stock pickers-read that fact in the Wall Street Journal this winter. Wish I had learned this lesson decades ago, would be money ahead now. As I get older, i get grumpier about giving a % cut to people for some things-some are a necessary evil, but stock investing (a 2.5-5.5% load fee vs. a very low % fee for a Vanguard fund) is one place where you can do much better by yourself and at a cheaper investment cost. My 2 cents, literally. Bruce.
