| “Buffet” does not pocket the dividends. Instead of paying a dividends, the share holders of Berkshire Hathaway “voted” that the company keeps the dividends and then Buffett, Charlie Munger, Todd Combs, and Ted Weschler reinvest the dividends into companies they feel are great investments for Berkshire shareholders.
The reason for this is because the share holders feel these guys have a better idea on how to invest dividends then the share holders do.
If you read on Wikipedia I believe Buffet made about $175,000 in 2008 and the rest of his wealth comes from Berkshire Hathaway stock.
