| 2x2 is a great idea until it doesn't rain and you cut your planting efficiency drastically filling fertilizer all the time. We have had good luck fall banding nutrients including N 6-7" deep. This year I saw a 20-30 bushel drop in a field when moving from strips to notill. We have put a priority on getting fall striping done on time which meant pulling 1 guy off harvest to get done before it froze this year.
Spring striping with a coulter may be an option-you could go faster and use less HP. | |
