Be interested to hear more about that bean thing.

The Farm show paper had a guy in there a few years ago that put golf balls on an augar and turn it slow and broke leaves all off. Said he got 10-15 more bushels per acre.

I had some organic beans in a poorly drained area that the stand got thinned pretty bad early. I rotary hoed to clean up a flush of freshly germinated weeds when the beans were a foot tall or so. Looked like a hailstorm hit, but I cleaned up the weeds and they were very good yielding beans. Maybe I wasn't actually sacrificing anything to get the weeds after all.
