It's a chicken and egg issue. Macropores are there because of nightcrawlers. Nightcrawlers are there because of drain tile creating an environment in which they can survive. Ask guys in southern IL how many of those worms they have with seasonally high water tables?

So it's not a blame game, it's an issue awareness that needs to be addressed and for people to understand what's going on under the soil. And once we understand the parameters we can fix the issues.
