Southeast Colorado | I was 38 and my Dad was 60 when he died in a tractor accident back in 2004. We had 12 years directly working together after I came back home to farm. He quickly became my best friend. The cool thing about him was his desire for his kids to be better and have more than himself. When he died I owned 5 times more land than him and that was made possible mainly in the beginning by he and my Mom. I try really hard to keep that philosophy going with my now adult kids (neither one of them farm). I too think it's really sad to read or hear about folks problems working with family.
