WCIL | Don't forget new insulation in the walls. I see you are from NEIA. Spray foam those walls since you are tearing out the drywall. Is this an older 2 story home? While yo've got the walls torn out run some electrical wire for new outlets upstairs. Very thankful my husband did that. The bedroom above our kitchen had ZERO outlets. Now, we can plug in a window air conditioner when relatives visit. We did the demolition and electrical on our kitchen. Took it to the studs, tore out 3 layers of flooring, new ceiling, We did pay a carpenter to do the drywall, install cabinets, do the back splash. Laminate countertop, vinyl flooring, middle of road cabinets. Not counting appliances... about $18,000. $4,000 was the carpenter labor. Plus we paid a plumber too. Did this in 2015. |
