Well, they put a data logger on the trucks of a bunch of guys like you and studied how they shifted over millions of miles. Then they built a transmission that did exactly that every time, no matter what.

Computers are great at repetition. They don’t get tired, they don’t get a gear in partway and chip a tooth, etc.

What a joke this statement is. They derate or leave you stranded is what they do. Just learn to shift

They are going to autos so they can put anyone in a truck. A computer cannot outshift a competent driver period. If you think it can, then buy a 2018 auto shift and tell me where that computer is in 30 yrs.
