Southern Oh | I just got it set up and working last weekend and with the tripod on the back porch it was 300 yards. I moved it away from the house and got 1000 yards. I was pretty shocked that I was just handed about 10 cardboard boxes with various parts in them and ZERO assembly instructions (thanks Trimble). The kit included 7 different antennas (rubber duck, short whip, 2 long whips and 1 long whip in a wrong frequency range) with no explanation on what goes where. I was expecting quite a bit farther range than what I was getting. I was planning to try it on top of the house and see how much range I could get with an additional 20' elevation. I don't want to buy a tower and install it only to find it doesn't work thru the trees and or hills. I went to www.towercoverage.com and entered the radio info and tower location and it shows I should have much better coverage. | |
