Rule 1: if it's still in the bag you cannot lose ACTual yield, only yield POTENTaiAl. And with hybrids 500+ potential, there is a lot of potential to lose and still have a good crop no matter where you are. Also the late planting is similar to a drought in that the crop can likely go AT least 2 weeks longer than you think it can without losing much if any yield.
