My uncle was in WW2 in his mid 20's, but he fought the battles in his dreams for the rest of his life. His wife got very good at waking up and jumping out of bed to avoid the arm and leg flailing fight. Might there be an outside influence causing your dreams ?
One I had I will always remember. In my dream I was at the local machinery salvage yard, trying to remove a much needed part. It was impossible to get anything done because this noisy hyperactive little dog was constantly barking and snapping at me. I would take a swing or a kick at the little bugger, but he was so fast I could never hit him. This finally had me so upset that I woke up in a raging sweat, only to hear my old saint Bernard dog sitting under my bedroom window going woof, woof, woof, woof.
