I was afraid you'd say that. I've had good luck so far with the cheapest APC units (three in this house, one at my brother's, one on my office computer). They've all switched during power surges (lights get brighter) and power failures and I've not noticed any issues with computers shutting down on me. I have built the last three of my computers with Antec power supplies, and used HP and Dell computers at work. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I hadn't previously noticed the comments on that Nebraska test. I see those types of comments all the time for all brands though. Lots of times for 3ph lift capacity or hydraulic capacities. The specific claim you are mentioning wouldn't be noticeable in the field, but I can see why that would still be a concern. I'm certainly glad for independent test facilities like Nebraska. If the computer industry wasn't so fast moving, it would be useful to have more standardized testing of claims.
