West Union, IOWA FLOLO Farm 52175
Hilltop Husker - 3/24/2018 19:49

People keep saying stuff like that. What about the folks that have no tilled for 3 decades have small grains in the rotation and have corn stalks piling up year after year?

My suggestion.....and remember I’m no ex-spurt.... but have seen things happen on my farm

1- a Legume on an InnerSeed mix in Corn does wonders for residue decomp, you need to think about the whole carbon:Nitrogen ratios..... if you have carbon building up(residue)

2-find some livestock (or just manure) would be a way to ramp things up.... worms are good, but the rest of the biology comes in many different forms

3- yes Nebraska is a lot drier then PA....or even Iowa... but often times it’s not how much you get,it’s how much you can hold
