You take a family member to the Dr and is diagnosed with XYZ cancer. You go to the oncologist and they ask what insurance and you say you are self pay. The estimated cost of the treatment is $1.2M plus surgery and rehab, so she asks what assurance the bill will be paid. You cannot write that check even at the negotiated rate, so how does this work? In my experience they will not start treatment until this is worked out. | |
