My wife and I were on Altrua Healthshare last year. The contribution was $430 per month. I think the deductible was $3,500? We didn't need it and paid minor expenses out of our HSA but felt somewhat secure that we had something in place in case we had a catastrophic incident. The contributions went direct to the company. It seemed pretty easy. We were facing premiums of over $25,000 per year last year.
This year, we qualified for subsidized insurance again so went that route but I would not hesitate to go back to a health share arrangement rather than have nothing or pay out huge premiums. |
