I don't know.....my 400/13/3.55's hasn't ever killed on the first pull from dead stop in the field yet, 99% of the time granny hole isn't used either. Idling from the get go. Anywhere on weight up to 92K has been pulled so far over the last 8 yrs.

HP and gears in tough conditions only covers up inadequacy of skill most times. Not saying you aren't an experienced operator, I'm not implying that at all in your case. But what I've seen over the last 30 yrs of operating a Class 8 rig with over a million miles and teaching more newbies than I care to remember from 0 experience, the easy solution is more power.
