Walnut Grove MN USA | A lot of those low hp trucks are ordered by fleets for a number of reasons. 1. Drivers have a harder time getting into trouble with a low hp engine. 2. The truck probably is run locally in an area that is fairly flat. 3. Truck probably isn't running at full 80,000 all the time. It maybe pulls a flatbed grossing 60,000 or pulls a bread van that is light weight. Maybe it spends half its miles running empty. For a grain hauler I would want a minimun of 400 hp and a 10 speed unless you have short flat routes, then the 330 9speed will do the job just not in a hurry. I would not consider it viable for a bull rack. They can pull harder empty than loaded in the right conditions | |
