Just from my limited knowledge of your situation I would go to a truck wrecking yard like http://www.illianatruckparts.com/ and buy a cutoff with the ratio you need and weld it onto your truck. You might even be able to do a swap with them trading your cutoff back to them? Or buy you a single axle cheep and stretch it using your cutoff and sell the truck as "reedy to accept your 18 or 20' bed"
