Guess that's why I work outside...

My preference in shops is to have the interiour walls done with gyprock. Having done that I don't think it matters much what the exterior is clad with from a fire perspective (inside fire).
I will say that if I had to lose one I'd prefer it to be wood. At least then I could just clean the nails up and move on.
We lost a barn 14 years ago in Feburary and it took a couple years to find all the steel that blew away that night.

When I do build, the heating will be infloor... probably by a wood fired boiler, detached in some manner.
