This is a small issue in the grand scale of things. But tiny issues grow into big problems if left for long enough.

The general intent of WIC is a good one and I generally support the effort of it.

That paragraph stands out to me as being demeaning to hard working folk that try to take care of themselves.

Put together with 1000 other little jabs from govt, and it becomes a rather clear and insensitive set of comments against certain lifestyles and values that some citizens hold.

In a country that has become overly sensitive, it shows even those that are overly sensitive do the exact same thing - discriminate against others in very small but ever more frequent ways.

Without saying somthing, our silence adds to that insensitivity.

So I'm saying something.

It is a very poor, insensitive way to advertise and advocate their position. They should have done better than that paragraph.
