grainbinder - 1/12/2018 19:19 We just had a new addition to our family 1 1/2 week ago. Today, we get a packet of information from the county about all of the "free" or reduced programs available to us. I was reading about it and it states ""you will be glad you applied for WIC. WIC moms eat better and have healthier babies. Infants born to WIC moms grow and develop better. Children on WIC eat healthier foods and are better prepared for school. Everyone winds with WIC".

Well, that's good . . . . . . . WIC helps many under served or under privileged people get proper nutrition. there are those that use it to help themselves step up in society and those that don't. Nutrition is key to basic developmental needs and learning of children and mothers. it's a good program and part of their mode of operation is to offer the program benefits to all . . . . . .

I hope you don't find the offer to you offensive . . .. it shouldn't be taken that way.

I guess I didn't find it offensive that they sent it to me b/c I think every new childs parents in the county gets a mailer. I did find it a bit offensive in the sense that it makes you feel that if you don't sign up for WIC you will somehow end up being a substandard parent........

Does this funding come from the farm programs??
