C IL | I'll confess. I bought a few Dec 4.50 calls. I drew the lines, charted, plotted, and am not unhappy at this point.
How was I supposed to know the national yield was going to come in highest ever? My crop last year looked three times as good as this one. Still don't see big ears out there. Just 62 pound corn.
I'll gladly sacrifice a few $/ac on calls for the $150/ac revenue gift from higher yields. Take my bean cash, bin some corn and watch the market develop.
What was it that 5Head posted a few days ago - #2017secondmostprofitableyearever? Not quite sure I'm there, but it's not looking like a bad revenue/profit year overall, even without $4.50 cash corn.
