I went (got there) an auction where supposedly that happen. What the guy did - started one hell of a stink and was swearing and complaining and told them he will never attend one of his auctions again. I would say doing that though is not considered "politically correct". If that happened to me a very local auction I would not be disrespected like that as I would know most of the people at the auction/auctioneer so they would know that is BS, but they wouldn't do something like that in the first place. In bigger auctions where you don't know 7/8 or 15/16 of the people then it gets challenging to regain a good word. I would follow the others advice.
