I'd ask him to make an apology over the loudspeaker at the next auction since he made the accusation in the same manner. If he doesn't...then file a complaint with the better business bureau if he's accredited with it. If not, it's time to spend some money on an attorney to draft a letter to him explaining what defamation is.
