We are going to plant some wheat this fall for the first time in 10years or so.
We like to underseed it with red clover, which is usually done in early spring (March)
It's kind of a hit and miss thing if the clover will catch on or not, due to weather, moisture etc.
My question is, would it work if you spread the clover seed in the fall ?
Has anyone of you ever tried it ?
TIA for response.
Not sure about spreading pure clover in the fall but I have underseeded a mix of alfalfa/timothy/clover through the grass seed box on my grain drill. I no tilled it into wheat stubble in mid August. The stand is going on its' 6th year.
