Try to pin him down. Hand on the throat and chest. Keep him pinned till he raises his back leg. When he does that, you are now "pack leader." Has worked for us in the past.

Had to do this with my male yellow lab, he was an alpha male and he respected me as the leader from then on... He was a very high energy dog also and needed a lot of attention and discipline...
