I wouldn't worry about voltage drop if the other three brakes are working fine. Fix the one that's not working and address the voltage drop later.

You have an open circuit to the fourth brake, I'd address that first. It may be shorting as well.

Make sure you plug all the holes you are making with your probe or you will have a whole load of electrical issues later on.

I don't think I have an open circuit to the wheel that isn't braking. There is 9 volts going into the magnet. When I bypass the wiring harness and put 12 volts right to the magnet wires, it works. I need to address the voltage drop because it seems that is my problem.

Also, I did clean the 7 pin connector already. If there was a short somewhere in the brake circuit, wouldn't it blow a fuse or trip a circuit breaker?

Okay, is that 9v across the two wires or hot wire to ground? How are the brakes grounded on that trailer? I always use two wire cables to brakes directly wired to the ground post on the plug, I never use the trailer frame. The brake should work with 9v as voltage is what varies the application rate. Are you spinning the drum as your testing it?

Yes, I tested across the 2 wires at the magnet. The trailer has a distribution block that is grounded to the trailer frame and also the 7 way plug. Yes, I am spinning the tire.

Well, nit seems your down to a defective magnet? Did you measure resistance compared to the rest?

Yes I did. Both the old magnet and the new magnet read 3.4 ohms. I actually think I got it fixed the other day. I cleaned up the ground bolt that bolts through the frame on the trailer and everything seems to be working now. Turns out that the bolt was clamping down on DOT tape under the head and a plastic box for the breakaway battery on the back under the nut. My question is, why wouldn't the ground in the 7 way plug provide the ground right to the truck? Why does it need a ground to the trailer frame, when everything is grounded to the 7 way?
