Most TV sets have USB slots nowadays, you could simply supply the program on USB thumb drives (if you have a chance to collect them back).

To reduce the amount of data, you could possibly set the camera to a lower (but still sufficient) resolution, or use a compressed format like MP4. Most DVD devices readily accept MP4 videos burned to DVD ROM. 4.7 GB usually allow 2 hours or more of standard resolution movies, high definition requires more.
