central - east central Minnesota - | I guess I'm in a different camp here when it comes to reg vs. front load. The independant family appliance dealer here, steered us into a conventional top load Maytag washer. He claims it is more reliable and less costly to purchase and if something does go haywire, to repair. It may use more water, but water is neccessary to clean the cloths. It does spin at higher rpms and for longer times (simular to the front loads) then top loads of past. Requiring less drying - acturally does very well at that. He has used/tested both and for the money recommends the top loads. He makes less profit on top loads then front loads, he claims, but he and his brother are the service guys and they don't like service calls (interferes with their coffee shop time - lol). Ourselves and several friends that followed his advice are very happy with the performance of the top loads. I'd check consumer reports and see what they have to say about top loads and front loads . . . .. |
