Coldwater, Michigan | We purchased a Maytag top loader when we got married in 1976. Bought the next one in approximately 1991. Bought middle of the line models. Dryers: bought original in 1976 when bought washer, bought 2nd one about 1995. Talked to appliance dealer about refrigerators a couple of years ago, and conversation turned to Washer/dryers. He sells Maytag, and stated that the Maytags of old are no more. They don't last as well. Seems as when they got in trouble financially they started to make them cheaper. The Early Neptunes, while nice, had some issues, apparently.
Whirlpool bought Maytag when Maytag went into bankruptcy.
