You should let your son take over yours now, then. You're not ready to retire, but you're "depriving" your son the chance.
Same thing- the older guy isn't ready to fully retire, either, so it is what it is.
I fully understand that your son wants to farm (BTDT myself), and it's difficult to get into, especially now. Sometimes it doesn't happen when or how we want, if at all.
But desiring something doesn't mean that someone else is obligated to quit what they enjoy doing.
