I've got a plate & 9 screws in my lower leg, been there 22~ years. I have had a few issues over the years but not enough to get back in a wheelchair & hobble around on crutches.
Unfortunately I broke a few bones when I was young...each break seems to have some long lasting ache/arthritis.
