Subject: RE: Factoring orifice size for Hickenbottom Tile Intakes

South Central Illinois
The bottom 8 inch riser is on an 8 inch tile line.
The top 2 - 6 inch risers are on 6 inch tile line.
I usually try to put two risers on a given size of tile and then go to the next larger size of tile with two more risers and so on.
Seems to work pretty good like that most of the time.
For some reason yesterday the second terrace with the 6 inch riser was about to go over top.
The top one was half empty.
Think I will just install a Hickenbottom orifice in the top one and take out the smallest button which is maybe 2 1/2 inch opening and see what happens.
Like you said it is not an exact science
