Jesup, IA
I'm offering this solely as a weather report without comment on sobriety, tractor lighting, or anything else.

At 8pm last night, my father took me from our home farm to a field by Fairbank, IA to retrieve a pickup and a seed tender. This would be about 20 miles east of the acccident.

It was a unusually bright evening with blinding sun. The sky had an odd gold color. Dad, who is 87 years old, commented "the shadows sure are long" as if it were a winter evening.

It was just like one of those blindingly bright winter sunsets with the sun low in the sky, with the setting sun making it blindingly bright, yet shadowy at the same time. For us, visibility was extremely poor.
