SW Wisconsin | I used to milk holsteins and every once in a while I had one that was hard to handle. For the past 13 years I have had a angus herd, just like when I milked there are a few that get culled for disposition problems. When I put hay in the feeders I have to slap and push my way to the ring to cut off the strings. I have seen angus herds that don't get handled much that do seem to be high strung. I move mine from pasture to pasture and they pretty much walk right in the trailer. I think how you handle the cows may be the key to having calm cattle. | |
