Subject: RE: cattle prices, feed and alternative livestock?

northwest tennessee

I will stick with cattle. I dont buy any cattle except bulls for breeding and even though heifers have a cost my old cows are bringing good money so I dont worry about how much the heifers are costing by not selling them. I have about 70 brood cows and feed my calves to about 800-900 so I will just keep knocking along like I am. I have row crop ground that I rent out for a third and if grains were to go to nothing I would sow it back down and have more cattle but it would be a slow gradual process of saving heifers.
