EC North Dakota | I remember sharing with 6 other families. You had to know what your families ring was to know if it was for you. Long long short. A couple families would eavesdrop all the time. My parents still answer the phone identifying which family is answering. I know others who will say very little on the phone because the assume someone is eavesdropping.
This was all back in the 60's.
One day we had a call asking if we'd buy a quarter. We said we would let them know the following day. Neighbor was eavesdropping ran over and bought it that night. | |
