We have used road sand with pretty good luck so far. A person does not realize how much you need until you start. Last fall we put either 26 or 29 semi loads in, and only did a shade over half of the circle. We use a converted grain cart with a bottom dump and a payloader. Just have to make sure we call early to the sand pit, so they can keep up. It is kind of a fun job the first 10 minutes, then it goes downhill fast.
