Northwest Texas Panhandle
Okay, dumb southern farmer question but why not just let the field dry out? Why such a rush to put the last 50 lbs of N on? They recommend waiting till after tassel to even start the last 50 lbs here. We wouldn't be worried at all about N until close to dent. Seems like a lot of money to haul in those rocks and run over that corn. Are you done irrigating other than putting on the fertilizer? I've heard of people taking their sprayer and running down the tracks to push mud out if it gets bad.
