We've got a pit here of naturally clean washed sand, pea gravel sort of stuff.
That same kind if stuff is our natural subsoil at our home place. Our tracks don't tend to get too deep, especially on the rocky ground. The course sand is good for filling pivot tracks where needed, and also makes a very nice and easy to work base for pouring concrete. The concrete companies use it in their mix also. They don't even have to wash it, it's clean right out of the pit.
I don't care how bad the tracks get, I'm not hauling rocks back into the fields.
