We've got a pit here of naturally clean washed sand, pea gravel sort of stuff. Been thousands of yards hauled out the last few years for pivot tracks, works really well since it is small enough to be pretty benign when it gets worked into the ground. Not sure I could bring myself to haul rock into the field! But you've got to do what you've got to do to keep them from sinking.
